Fifty years! Time for a class reunion again! A BHS '61 class reunion is scheduled for Friday 24 June 2011 at the Brandywine Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware (on Shipley Road, 3/4 mile north of Silverside Road).

If you attended our reunion back in 2002, then you know what a blast these things can be. If you didn't, then you really missed something and you should not make that mistake again, no lie. Look here for pictures from the 2002 reunion.

This reunion will start at 6:00pm and run 'till 1:00am, with a cash bar open the whole time. Hors d'oeuvres will be served from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and dinner will be served sometime between 8:00pm and 8:30pm. Dinner is crab cakes or filet mignon (your choice), along with spinach salad and key lime pie for desert. Plus, of course, coffee or tea.

There will be rock 'n roll music, of course, plus a PowerPoint presentation (running silently off to the side so that it does not interfere with the general festivities).

Lodging is available at the DoubleTree hotel (4727 Concord Pike). Call them at (302) 478-3929 and make sure to mention that you are part of the BHS 61 reunion (because there may be a group discount if we have 10 or more).

Any of you geezers who survive Friday night are invited to several activities on Saturday. We have arranged a tour of Brandywine High School from 11:00am to 12:30 pm. Following that, we are planning to lunch at Stanley's Tavern (Foulk & Grubb Roads) at approximately 1:00pm. Following that, there will be a tour of Longwood Gardens at approximately 3:00pm (which will cost about $12 per person, and less if we have a group of 15 or more).

Golf is available at Rock Manor [(302) 658-7784], which is a public course and newly rebuilt, or at the Brandywine Country Club [(302) 478-3925], which is a private course but open to us because we are having our reunion there. Golf is also available at the DuPont Country Club, which is a private club that will ostensibly allow non-members to play by calling Sherrie at the Sports Office at (302) 421-1798. Golf arrangements are on you, and not considered part of the class reunion.

Don Wood has arranged for the Brandywine Yearbook staff to put together a booklet and a PowerPoint presentation, using our yearbook plus some other (color) pictures you may wish to send to them. Send your pictures as .JPG files, or as physical prints to snailmail address
